His other works, too, are all imbued with a mysterious and peculiar flavor. In the “Fantasia,” commissioned by Aki Takahashi, he packs various elements into a melody that sounds vaguely familiar, transforming it into music that is ambiguous and rambling. The Six Novelettes were written by Jefski (1938–), who was suffering from an injury to his right hand, so that he could perform them for a week using only his left hand. “From the Deep Abyss” is an unconventional work that requires the pianist to recite a text by Oscar Wilde, whistle, and hum while playing the piano. The listener must enjoy not only the sound of the piano but even the “noise-like sounds” produced by the pianist. Whether one perceives this as a pleasure or a torment… Here lies one form of contemporary music.\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Naxos","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595553300769,"sku":"4945604597609","price":2690.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4945604597609.jpg?v=1790481614","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4945604597609","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
