This is a piece that offers a taste of such variety, and many consider it a hidden masterpiece of chamber music. The Czech ensemble that bears the composer's name and others are reliable performers. Chamber music occupies an important place in Martineau's vast oeuvre, and the first piano quintet, written in 1933, is a good example of the neoclassicism that is common in Martineau's works from the 1930s, when he began to turn his attention to the folklore and traditional music of his native Bohemia. The larger second piano quintet of 1944 represents the frustration and anxiety that Martineau felt during the Great War. The Sonata for Two Violins and Piano is a more free and relaxed work than the two quintets, written in a more baroque than classical style.　［Comment courtesy of Ivy Co.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Naxos\/20th Century Czech","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46105955631393,"sku":"4945604578615","price":2090.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4945604578615.jpg?v=1691300530","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4945604578615","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
