Akiko Ikeda has a wide range of fans as a soloist, NHK Symphony Orchestra player, and recently as a dubbing and performance instructor for the character (Kuroki) in the TV drama version of "Nodame Cantabile. The ensemble is led by her, along with Hitoshi Wakui (NHK Symphony Orchestra) and Ami Kaneko (Principal of the New Japan Philharmonic), who are all talented oboe players. The album includes both 20th century works and the great classical work "Beethoven: Trio," and features the "contrast in sound" and "atmosphere created by different styles" from different periods in the performances by these virtuosos.
