Description:

Quiet master of the fortepiano, Stanley Hochland's tasty compilation of Mozart and Schubert, including hidden masterpiece recordings from the 1980s! A compilation of the tasty performances by Stanley Hochland, a quiet master of the fortepiano, from 1982 with Vera Bess (violin) to chamber music with Hidemi Suzuki (cello), Natsumi Wakamatsu (violin), Hiroshi Narita (viola), and a concerto with Orchestra Libera Classica, to the 2008 Schubert concerto, This is a valuable collection of recordings covering Schubert up to 2008. Stanley Hochland, a pioneer in the world of fortepiano with a strong sense of language, full of dreams and poetic sentiment, has compiled on six discs a number of masterpieces by Mozart and Schubert that speak to us with a multifaceted touch. The booklet is also extensive, with commentary in Japanese and English, as well as photographs of the recordings.Stanley Hochland (fortepiano) studied piano and music theory at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Jaap Spaandermann. He then studied with Maria Curcio in London and Menaham Pressler in Bloomington, USA. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe, the United States, Australia, and Japan. Hochland was one of the pioneers as a fortepiano player and made many recordings with Anner Bylsma and Vera Bess in the early 70s. He also participated in the recording of Haydn's complete sonatas for keyboard by Brilliant Classics. He has participated in many chamber music performances, has been invited to ancient music festivals, and has given concerts of Beethoven's complete piano concertos with the 18th Century Orchestra in several European cities.During the Mozart Year, he participated in a project to perform the most important piano concertos with the orchestra. A fortepiano player worthy of the name of a maestro. King International
