Tharaud first came to prominence with his 2001 recording of works by the French Baroque master Rameau (1683-1764), played on modern piano. This collection of Bach's works follows in his footsteps. The title of this collection is "Concertos in Italian Style," and the selections include Italian concertos as well as works by Vivaldi and Marcello, which Bach was fascinated by and arranged for piano. From the beginning of the disc, Sicilienne, the world of the piano, which could only be performed by Taro's hands, unfolds with the cool texture of a modern piano.
