Description:

The majestic world of Lenna Church. Mie Mikie, the queen of accordion, has finally recorded Bach's "Old Testament of Music," the Bach Mean Law! The first new release on the BIS label in five years features excerpts from Bach's Mean Clavier cycle, which was released to great acclaim in the mid-1990s. Bach's mean rules, which Mikie Mikimoto describes as "hiding endless beauty, surprises, magic, and adventure, and the more I play them, the more I discover new things," have been in the works for five years since the recording was conceived. This collection, which every pianist must play, consists of preludes and fugues in all 24 keys in Volumes I and II, respectively, and is famous for being praised by Hans von Bulow, who called it "the Old Testament of music. Mie Mikimie's accordion performance shows a great variety of expressions, and the expression of the individual voices in the fugue is particularly impressive, showing her respect for Bach and her sincere attitude toward music. The warm and beautiful accordion sounds echo through the church in Lennar, Sweden. Japanese commentary is included. <Born in Tokyo, Japan, she moved to Germany at the age of 13 to study at the Conservatory in Trossingen, Germany, and won the first prize in the youth division of the Klingenthal International Accordion Competition in 1973 and 1974.He graduated from the piano department of the Hanover State Conservatory of Music in 1981. In Japan, she made her debut in 1977 with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Hiroyuki Iwashiro. She has performed in the opening series of Suntory Hall and Casals Hall. In 1990, she was awarded the Art Encouragement Prize of the State Government of North Rhine-Westphalia, and in 2007 she was named "Musician of the Year" at the Oulunsalo Music Festival. As of 2017, he is Vice President of the Folkwang University of the Arts, Senior Professor of the Accordion Department, and Professor Emeritus of the Xinjiang University of Music. As an educator, he has trained many international competition winners and music academy professors around the world, and has released numerous recordings on the BIS label, all of which have been well received.
