Strauss’s only violin concerto, composed when he was 18, is a challenging work characterized by a tight structure and vitality that foreshadow the brilliant style of his later years. Bartók’s Violin Concerto No. 1 was composed around 1908 and dedicated to the violinist Steffi Geyer; Although the work captures the transition from late Romantic style to his unique modern expression, Geyer sealed it away without ever performing it, so the premiere did not take place until 1958, after her death. Rhapsody No. 1, based on folk songs, captivates with its exotic sound, enhanced by the addition of the cimbalom to the orchestra. Di Glocke, where this recording was made, is also a place with special significance for Bartók, as he performed there in 1929. The robust tone of the 1738 Guarneri del Gesù played by Barewa, combined with the meticulous ensemble playing of the orchestra led by Järvi, clearly brings out the work’s structural beauty.\n*Japanese liner notes for the domestic edition… Hiro Aiba\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Alpha","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53419247501601,"sku":"4589538834845","price":3850.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4589538834845.jpg?v=1788227584","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4589538834845","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
