Slatkin's performances of Prokofiev are also highly acclaimed, but recordings are scarce, and this is a rare one. The narration was cut out when the CD was released on Vox-Box, but this reissue goes back to the original master and includes the narration as it did when the LP was first released. This time, it is reissued with the narration as it was when the LP was first released. In the U.S., this is an excellent recording that is well known among audiophiles. In 2003, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab., a reissue label that is dedicated to reissues, licensed the recording and made it available on SACD.While this is a standard CD, the reissue is notable for its 24-bit\/192kHz remastering by renowned engineer Mike Clements. The booklet contains a commentary and jacket photo of the relevant work reprinted from the commentary of the first LP release.
