The first recording was made possible because of a pandemic that forced the cancellation of many gatherings at a beautiful, resonant church she had found in West Sussex, but she was able to persevere and complete the complete recording as people returned to their daily activities, which ironically made it difficult to secure a schedule. You can enjoy the sound of the famous German-made instrument from around 1750. For No. 6, she uses a five-string cello made for her by Shem McKay, a viola da gamba maker from Ireland who now has a workshop in Kent, England.
