With the exception of the “Overture,” which has a lively character, each piece begins with a leisurely “Lento” movement; all of them are beautiful compositions that are somewhat reminiscent of his father’s masterpiece, the “Symphony of Sorrows.” You can enjoy the “Concerto-Notturno,” featuring folk-style melodies and virtuosic violin playing, as well as the “Accordion Concerto,” dedicated to Maciej Fronczkiewicz—who premiered nearly 90 of his works—and notable for its nostalgic melodies. You can also enjoy the “Divertimento,” which features a wonderful contrast between quiet and intense movements.
