Born in Lisbon, he honed his skills in Paris and London before returning to his homeland, where he left behind a large body of work centered on piano pieces. This piano quintet, published by Clementi in 1813, is written in the Viennese Classical style and carries on Beethoven’s tradition. César Viana’s “Labyrinth of the Ear” was commissioned for the Beethoven Festival held in Lisbon in 2020. It employs the idea of adding contrapuntal melodies to motifs from Beethoven’s string quartets. Jaime Reis’s “Sangue Inverso” was conceived in 2015 and completed in 2020. It consists of seven movements, which can be performed either simultaneously or in sequence. The album features the fifth movement, a piece that also emerged from a study of Beethoven’s “Great Fugue.” Centered around the quartet named after the great Portuguese composer Lopes-Graça, the ensemble—featuring pianist Poliakova Kunya and others—delivers a magnificent performance.\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Toccata Next","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53374652875041,"sku":"4589538782900","price":2421.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4589538782900.jpg?v=1787632205","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4589538782900","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
