In addition to these works by Robert, the album includes three pieces from *An Evening of Music*, composed in 1835—the year Clara Schumann is said to have begun her romantic relationship with Robert. Using a 19th-century Bechstein piano from an era close to that in which they were active, Helmchen delivers a wonderful performance full of inspiration and varied expression.
