This first volume features five cantatas for the end of summer 1715 and five cantatas for Lent. It includes cantatas written in the French style, hence the name “French Liturgical Calendar Series.” Among them, “Gottschweigedochnichtalso,” known as “Judica” and composed for the Fifth Sunday of Lent, plays a special role as the “Week of the Beginning of the Passion.” Conducted by Felix Koch, this project features the vocal ensemble “Gutenberg Solisten,” composed of veteran singers with a proven track record in Baroque performance alongside young singers selected specifically for this project.
