This is the second collection of overtures for wind orchestra, following the first one (555085). Telemann, who was also active in the field of harmonic music, such as music for military bands, music for hunting, and music for the table, left many works in this field. Among them is a brass band version of an orchestral piece titled the \"Ulster Overture,\" which succeeds in creating a wonderful sound even without the string part. Alster is the name of an artificial lake in Hamburg, created in the 13th century when the Alster River was dammed up to turn a water mill. Telemann's piece is a charming sonic evocation of the idyllic scenery of the time when the river flowed through it. The sarabande depicts graceful swans, while crows and frogs caw at each other, nymphs dance, and various other scenes are depicted. The Orfeo Wind Ensemble's performance has a charming, remote sound.
