New Zealand-based German-Brazilian guitarist Günter Helbig has taken on the groundbreaking challenge of playing Villa-Lobos' guitar pieces on the electric guitar. The open and expansive sound, different from that of the classical guitar, embodies the \"new sound\" that Villa-Lobos would have aimed for, and gives new pleasure to the listener as well. The final piece, \"Bach in Brazilian Style No. 5,\" features samba singer Alda Rezende. Her singing, one octave lower than usual, leaves a strong impression.
