Jacob Heringman presents these arrangements alongside his own. Heringman, who grew up in the United States, was originally a guitarist, but after hearing a recording by Jacob Lindberg in 1986, he became captivated by the lute. The following year, in 1987, he moved to London to study under Lindberg at the Royal College of Music. He subsequently became active in London—a mecca for early music—playing basso continuo and accompanying lute songs with various ensembles, and in the process became deeply captivated by Josquin’s music. In 2000, he released a Josquin album based on a concept similar to this one.
