The works of Czerny, a pupil of Beethoven, are still used for piano study today, and the many etudes written by the English composer Cramer, later revised by the great musician Hans von Bülow, \"Cramer-Bülow Exercises,\" are well-known as instructional books. This album contains the Kramer etudes. This album contains 28 etudes by various composers published in the first half of the 19th century, starting with the Cramer etudes and including works by Hélène de Montgerud, a progressive French female composer. This is an interesting disc that is truly a treasure trove of small pieces.
