Now, a precious recording of Ravel’s works has been released by the Basque National Orchestra, based in the very heart of that culture.\nFrom the opening “La Valse” through “Bavane for a Dead Princess” to the closing “Boléro,” these six pieces not only capture Ravel’s longing for the Basque region but also allow listeners to fully appreciate Trevino’s artistry as he weaves a magically intricate sound from the orchestra. Under the dedicated leadership of fellow Basque Enrique Holda, the orchestra has been led by principal conductors including Hans Graf, Gilbert Varga, Adres Orosco-Estrada, Andrei Boreiko, and Jun Merkel.
