In addition to established masters such as Ponselle and Späth, this recording also showcases the presence of a new generation of virtuosos, including the versatile gamba player Romina Rischka, who is currently gaining significant attention in the European early music scene. The sound—with its well-defined contours and deep tonal nuances—is striking, offering a slightly different character from earlier recordings, which were notable for their subdued, melancholic tone. The other two pieces are recorded here for the first time.
