This talented composer, who left Italy to enjoy a glorious career as court composer in Stuttgart, masterfully employed the pre-Classical “galant” style while producing a string of masterful operas characterized by a unique style that even incorporated ensemble accompaniment in recitatives; however, the work recorded here is a rare sacred composition.
