While the previous recording was dedicated entirely to Pergolesi, this new release promises to shed fresh light on a masterpiece that already boasts numerous acclaimed recordings.\n\nPergolesi’s *Stabat Mater* was completed shortly before his untimely death, modeled after a work by Alessandro Scarlatti, a master of the Neapolitan school, and intended to surpass it. The restrained beauty of this work, featuring two soloists and a modest string ensemble, quickly earned high acclaim even beyond Naples. One of the soloists Lucé has invited for this recording is Sandrine Piau!
