This album is her complete string quartets, including two world premiere recordings. Born into a wealthy family, Dalbea aspired to be a pianist, but gave up the pursuit due to chronic tendinitis and began composing. The String Quartet No. 1 was written while she was a student of Nielsen and was premiered in 1914 at her home in Dalbea, where Nielsen also participated in the performance. No. 2 was published by a German publisher in 1926 and performed abroad. No. 3 is dedicated to his teacher Nielsen. The Nordic String Quartet, which specializes in Nordic music, was formed in 2013 by a group of young players. They perform Dalbeer's works with a warm and superb sound.
