The series of events was organized by Frances Gershwin (1906–1999), Gershwin’s younger sister. A wonderful singer herself, she performed alongside her husband, Leopold Godowsky Jr. (son of the renowned pianist Godowsky), but for this concert, their son, pianist Leopold Godowsky III, appeared as the soloist. He delivers a commanding performance of his uncle Gershwin’s piano concerto.
