About 12 years later, a French-language version was also staged in Paris. This time, not only was the language changed from Italian, but various revisions were made, including transposing the aria of the main character Orphe (French for Orfeo) and changing it from countertenor to tenor, adding an aria by Orphe, adding ballet music, expanding the famous \"Dance of the Spirits,\" and changing instruments. This video includes the production staged at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in 2015, which was restaged at La Scala in Milan in 2018. Although Orfe has become more powerful with the change to tenor, Flores' lustrous voice will not cause much discomfort to those accustomed to hearing him as a counter-tenor. Flores' emotional expression and the fine performances by Kark and Said add a lot to the story. The stage, though simple at first glance, is well designed with an orchestra rising onto the stage. The ballet is a combination of Gluck's music and modern dance, with costumes reminiscent of the modern era, creating a stage where various styles are in fascinating harmony.
