While their previous release was a “Collection of Epiphany Cantatas,” this album features solo cantatas and dialogue cantatas. While Bach’s “Dialogue Cantatas”—which depict a dialogue between Jesus and a soul—are well known, Graupner’s works include many brilliant pieces reminiscent of operatic duets and are truly a delight to listen to.
