The leader of the ensemble, Shigetaka Ikemoto, started playing the trombone when he was in junior high school and became a thoroughbred at the prestigious Konan Junior and Senior High Schools. He joined the Keio University Light Music Society, which featured many contemporary pieces, and became concertmaster in his second year. He has been actively interacting with various ensembles\/arrangers, including Maria Schneider, to refine his music, and led the band to the top prize in the Yamano Big Band Jazz Contest for three years in a row. In the contest, the band has also commissioned and performed music from up-and-coming composers and arrangers in Japan and abroad, including Miho Sazama. This album is an all-original work by Ikemoto.Aiming to create a band that expresses the pressure of a big band and the fun of combo interplay, Ikemoto himself called on players he had been fascinated by in his performance activities, and rehearsed every three months for a year. Although he began composing and arranging music only two years ago, he has a great deal of experience in analyzing numerous scores. The sound, which combines catchy melody lines and a beautiful sense of harmony along with exquisite ensemble and groove, is vividly connected to the contemporary scene. The free solos of each member, including Tomoaki Baba, who also played saxophone in \"Blue Giants,\" and Mirai Hirose, also brought out the charm of the band. He is also active in the POPS field, touring with MISIA and King Gnu.
