In addition to B-sides that could be called hidden gems of the Pixies—such as “Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf),” “Into the White,” and “The Thing”—the collection also includes rare tracks like the instrumental version of “Letter to Memphis,” which was previously only available on the U.S. edition of the “Alec Eiffel” maxi-single.\n\nFurthermore, this reissue includes six newly added live tracks, selected from later releases such as 1997’s “Debaser.” For this edition, Kevin Vanbergen—who has remastered many key 4AD releases—has remastered all tracks from the original analog tapes. The result is a remarkably fresh sound, marking the culmination of his remastering work on the Pixies’ catalog. Designer Chris Bigg (v23) created new artwork using previously unused photographs from Simon Larvalestier’s archive that were originally taken for the Pixies.
