It was a shocking revelation.\nThese recordings mark the first installment of the five orchestral albums Fujii will release in 2026, making it her 24th orchestral album overall.\n\nSatoko Fujii’s Bunker Ulmenwall Orchestra is a special ensemble formed in 2014 by Japanese jazz pianist and composer Satoko Fujii, in collaboration with local musicians connected to the historic jazz club “Bunker Ulmenwall” in Bielefeld, Germany.\n\nThe recording by Satoko Fujii and the Bunker Ulmenwall Orchestra (Libra label, released July 10, 2026) had been dormant in concert producer Wolfgang Gross’s archives for over a decade.
