In the 1990s J-POP scene, L⇔R captivated many listeners with their sophisticated melodies and Western-influenced sound; even after L⇔R went on hiatus, Kenichi Kurosawa continued to pursue his own unique brand of pop music as a solo artist. *BANDINGTOGETHERinDreams* is a work that marks one of the milestones in that journey. The fact that this was the first time all the members reunited after L⇔R went on hiatus suggests that this album was an important work that allowed them to revisit their roots. Released as an LP to mark the 10th anniversary of his passing, this release will serve as an opportunity to once again showcase the appeal of Kenichi Kurosawa’s music.\n\n\u003ccomment by hideyasu hon records\u003e\nKenichi Kurosawa was a fellow record enthusiast. We’d meet up at record stores and hang out at my place, chatting while listening to the records I’d just bought. That’s how we always spent our time together.\nI was a manga artist back then, though I’m not sure if Mr. Kurosawa actually read my work. I, too, never brought up Mr. Kurosawa’s music. But in truth, I was secretly collecting and listening to L⇔R records. I deeply regret keeping that to myself because I was too shy to tell him.\nEvery year on the anniversary of Mr. Kurosawa’s passing, I spend the day listening to everything from L⇔R to his solo works. “BANDING TOGETHER in Dreams” is particularly moving, and every year I realize just how much I truly love this album.\nThis December 5th, marking the 10th anniversary of Mr. Kurosawa’s passing, I’ll be releasing “BANDING TOGETHER in Dreams” on LP through my own label, Raion Records. When I split the 10 tracks down the middle, I was surprised to find that both Side A and Side B came out to exactly 18 minutes each. It must have been created with an LP release in mind. I vowed to myself that I would make this a great record.
