Formed under the influence of the 13th Floor Elevators, led by Billy Gibbons' friend Rocky Erickson, the band quickly gained popularity and became the opening act for Jimi Hendrix and The Doors, but disbanded when two members were drafted into the military. The remaining members, Billy Gibbons and Dan Mitchell, would add Lanier Greig in 1969 to form the original ZZ Top.The guitar playing and psychedelic feel, which was highly praised by Jimi Hendrix at the time, is a must-hear!
