Alongside Buffalo Springfield, they were a major American rock band that had a significant influence on Japan’s “Happy End.” This fourth studio album, released in 1969 as the follow-up to Moby Grape 69, was their final release on Columbia. Following the departure of group founder Skip Spence, Bob Mosley also left the band, and was produced under difficult circumstances, including legal troubles with their manager. While it cannot be considered the band’s masterpiece, it is an unmissable milestone in their unique songwriting and band sound—one that has influenced countless other bands.
