Michelangeli has always been a stickler for his repertoire, aiming for the highest heights and performing to perfection. Beethoven's early works No. 3 and No. 11 are among his best, and he has performed them in many concerts. The Brahms in the second half is also a favorite repertoire of Michelangeli. The same piece was recorded by DG in February 1981, but in this live performance, Michelangeli changed the expression of each piece and played it with a rich sense of color.
