While it has been released on CD by various labels in recent years, the 2-track, 38-centimeter open-reel tape we obtained this time likely offers the clearest sound quality to date, making it all the more moving. It also includes the interlude and the post-performance applause; I believe it is rare for a release to include the applause (I have not verified the Munich Philharmonic box set).
