After the high school attached to the Tokyo University of the Arts and the university itself, he graduated with highest honours from the Conservatoire de Paris. His viola teachers were Junji Suganuma, B. Pasquier, C. Leroun and F. Gneri.\nIn 2007 he gave his debut recital at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan under the auspices of the Japan Federation of Musicians. In the same year he received the Prix du Musee Bonnat from the Maurice Ravel International Music Academy and was invited to the \"Recital de Printemps\" to give a recital in Ravel's birthplace. In 2014 he appeared as soloist in the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra's New Year Concert under Junichi Hirokami, and in 2015 he played Schumann's Piano Quintet with Martha Argerich at the Beppu Argerich Music Festival. In 2019 he gave the premiere of Kenji Sakai's Viola Concerto \"Historia\" with the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra under Junichi Hirokami. He has appeared at Viola Space and the Saito Kinen Festival Matsumoto and on NHK-FM's Recital Nova, among others, and has performed with J. Poulet, O. Charlier, Yang Sung-Won, E. Strosser, G. Hoffman and the Wihan Quartet; he has also recorded Beethoven's Serenade with the flautist Kazunori Seo.\nWith the Kansai String Quartet, founded in 2012, he concentrates above all on Beethoven. The quartet has appeared on Classic Club (NHK BS Premium) and Best of Classic (NHK-FM) and has performed with Yasushi Toyoshima and with the Prazak Quartet. It received the Osaka Culture Festival Encouragement Prize for 2014 and the Sakuya Konohana Award for 2015, and has released the CD \"Glazunov \u0026amp; Borodin\".\nOn period instruments he has played with Bach Collegium Japan, Orchestra Libera Classica and Hidemi Suzuki's Gut Salon, appearing alongside Hidemi Suzuki, Natsumi Wakamatsu and Shunske Sato.\nAfter the Academy of the Orchestre de Paris and a period as principal of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, he is now principal viola of the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra.
