Description:
The quintessence of the virtuoso Francescatti, who portrays the charm of the violin with his drippingly beautiful sound. Francescatti was the originator of "Men Chai" in the analog LP era, and his 1954 monaural recording of the two pieces coupled on the front and back sides of the LP became a big hit, which was followed by a surge of LPs combining the two pieces into one. The stereo re-recordings of the two songs are included on this album. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the best recording of Francescatti's sweet and lush violin playing in his heyday. The stereo recordings of Bruch, Lalo, and Sibelius are also included in this 2-CD set, which offers the true essence of Francescatti's violin playing, and the full charm of his romanticism.
