ALTUS has licensed and remastered the live recordings of Elischka and the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra originally released on the Pastiel label, presenting them for the first time on SACD. Elischka was also well-versed in Tchaikovsky’s music and left behind renowned recordings of his three late symphonies. Combined with Dvořák’s enchanting orchestral works, this album allows you to fully savor his masterful artistry all at once! All 8 tracks are included on a single SACD (total running time: 243 minutes)! Featuring the latest mastering by Mr. Saito of Altus. A Tower Records exclusive, released in strictly limited quantities for the first time on SACD!\n\nRadmil Eliška (1931–2019) received high acclaim for his numerous performances with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. The series of recordings released on the Pastier label focused primarily on works from his homeland—such as Dvořák, Smetana, and Janáček—as well as Russian music. Eliška’s conducting, characterized by its fresh expressiveness and high musicality, left a significant legacy among Japanese fans. Eliška deepened his relationship with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra after their first collaboration in 2006, which featured “Scheherazade” and other works. He was appointed Principal Guest Conductor in 2008 and was later named Conductor Emeritus in 2015. In addition to the Pastiel label, his releases on the ALTUS label—including the “Complete Brahms Symphonies”—also garnered significant attention. His contributions to the Japanese music scene are substantial, particularly for his proactive promotion of Czech works, which do not often receive many performance opportunities in Japan, even beyond the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. This time, nine titles—excluding the Pastiel Label CD “The Farewell Concert in Sapporo” (released in 2017)—totaling 10 CDs’ worth of recordings have been reissued as a three-disc SACD single-layer set, featuring the latest mastering by Keisuke Saito, the head of the ALTUS Label. The first installment, “Dvořák: Symphonies Nos. 5–9,” recorded live at the Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara between 2008 and 2013, was released on January 23, and the second installment, “Smetana, Janáček, and Czech Music,” will be released on March 6. Now, as the third and final installment, we are pleased to announce the release of “Tchaikovsky: Three Late Symphonies, Dvořák: Orchestral Works.” On this occasion, marking the seventh anniversary of her passing, we invite you to savor the legendary performances left behind by Eliska and the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra.\n(1\/2)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Altus X TOWER RECORDS","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52468690911521,"sku":"4543638880034","price":6600.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4543638880034.jpg?v=1774184302","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4543638880034","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
