The overwhelming Paris live performance of Bernstein's eighteenth repertoire, a massive program that drew a huge ovation from the audience, is now available on CD with ALTUS' mastering, licensed from the INA (French National Audiovisual Institute). This is the first release of the famous program that concentrates Bernstein's hottest points, Schumann No. 2 and Shostakovich No. 5, and it has a great impact as a stereo recording! The concert was held only one month after Munsch's last visit to Japan. Bernstein had made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in the same year when he was the Music Director of the New York Philharmonic, and his presence in Europe was just growing. The performance produced by this combination of musicians at this time was very passionate and spirited while maintaining the French style of tone, and the music was performed with a strong sense of drive that made the audience's hands sweat. No wonder the audience applauded so loudly! The sound of him stomping on the conductor's podium can be heard throughout the performance, adding to the thrill of the live recording.The orchestra seems to be under Bernstein's relentless control, and the way he sings the melody lines and drives the orchestra along is clearly recorded, giving us a clear picture of a heated concert. ～From the commentary by Ryuichi Shirayanagi, King International.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Altus","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45647893725473,"sku":"4543638005086","price":3790.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/products\/4543638005086.jpg?v=1688445989","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4543638005086","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
