This is Post-Record Academy!\n\n■ Satoshi Minami (Composer)\nBorn in Tokyo in 1955. At the Tokyo University of the Arts, he studied composition under Teruyuki Noda and Toshiro Mayuzumi. After winning prizes and being selected in several competitions, he formed the composers’ collective “Three-Year Society” in 1983 with Toshiro Nakagawa, Akemi Naito, Nao Kukiyama, Haruki Kobayashi, and others. At the same time, he staged collaborative performances in and around Tokyo with vocalist Fusae Uchida, composer-performer Mutsuo Tsuruta, sculptor Kenichi Kanazawa, neon artist Takuro Osaka, and butoh dancer Kashio Hanayagi. He moved to Hokkaido in 1986. In 1991, the premiere of *Color Project V* was well-received, earning him the Muramatsu Newcomer Award. In 1992, he received an Honorable Mention in the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Performing Arts Encouragement Award for *The Garden of Joyful Knowledge Ib*. Since then, her works have been selected for events such as the ISCM and the Asian Music Festival, featured at several music festivals, and she has been invited to give lectures on her own compositions.
