For this new album Motoaki Omachi of Esoteric and Tomoyoshi Ezaki of Octavia Records joined forces as producers. The programme - Bach, Beethoven and Bartók, \"the three Bs\" as Kaneko sees them today - offers a portrait of the pianist at this moment in his career.\n\nBoth producers were present at the sessions, attending to every detail of the recording. The resulting master, the product of an uncompromising approach to sound, is presented here in Exton's state-of-the-art mastering format, the \"EXTON Laboratory Gold Line\".\n\n- Miyuji Kaneko (piano)\nBorn in 1989 to a Japanese father and a Hungarian mother. At the age of six he moved to Hungary on his own to study at the Bartók Béla Music Primary School with the leading piano pedagogue Tamásné Cs. Nagy. He won the National Piano Duet Competition in 1997 and 2000, and in 2001 took first prize in the 9-11 age category of the National Piano Competition. In 2001, aged 11, he was admitted ahead of his years to the piano faculty of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, studying with Gábor Eckhardt, Gyöngyi Keveházi and Rita Wagner. On completing the full piano course in 2006 he returned to Japan, transferring to the high school attached to Tokyo College of Music and studying with Kazune Shimizu, Akiyoshi Sako and Shoko Miura. His debut album Plays Liszt, released in October 2010, was chosen as a Tokusen (Editor's Choice) disc by Record Geijutsu magazine. He received the 12th Hotel Okura Music Award in 2011 and the 22nd Idemitsu Music Award in 2012. He has appeared with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra under Ken-ichiro Kobayashi, the New Japan Philharmonic, the Osaka Century Symphony Orchestra (now the Japan Century Symphony Orchestra) and the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra under Tatsuya Shimono, among others, and performs abroad in Hungary, the USA, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland and China. He graduated top of his class from the piano performance course of Tokyo College of Music and, as of 2012, is enrolled in the keyboard research field of the instrumental department of its graduate school.
