Project for the 115th anniversary of Takashi Asahina's birth. Rare edition of his specialty repertoire! Reissued for the first time in 21 years since its first release! A collection of Tchaikovsky performances not included in the set previously released under this project. Rare edition! Newly reissued with new manuscript by Hiroo Tojo and commentary by Akihiko Yoshii. Newly mastered by Tomotoshi Ezaki for this reissue. Limited edition of 700 sets with serial numbers! These two Tchaikovsky pieces are not included in the previously released Takashi Asahina set. No. 5 was the main program of the concert held in 1996 to commemorate Asahina's US jubilee. The "Pathetique" was released as a memorial disc in 2002 after his death, and both have been long-awaited re-releases. Both pieces are said to be the heirs of Mettel, and the wide range of emotion in the "Pathetique" is sung with deep breaths. In "No. 5," the tempo changes boldly and instantly, masculine grandeur and romantic sentiments intermingle, and the roars that emanate here and there overwhelm the listener. The new manuscript by Hiroo Tojo, the new mastering by Tomotoshi Ezaki in 2023, and the green label specifications will allow you to hear the last great performance by Asahina in his 80s. Tower Project has been featuring many reissues of sound sources from multiple labels, mainly as anniversary projects. Recently, we have had many opportunities to release many major recordings from the early CD specs to the last years of his life on the latest, SACD hybrid discs. In a series of reissue projects with Octavia Records, we have reissued mainly from Canyon Classics sources, and have produced authentic, up-to-date reissues by the production team of the time.As part of the 115th anniversary of his birth project, we have decided to reissue the latest important albums that have been requested by our listeners, including our most ardent fans, from among the previously omitted but important recordings, especially rare sound recordings that have been discontinued or are no longer in production. Including this title, a total of four albums will be released, two of which will be released at a later date. (1/2)
