Lazarev paints a magnificent world of Rachmaninoff!\n\nHere is the latest recording from Alexander Lazarev and the Japan Philharmonic, a duo that continues to make a powerful impact, has earned high acclaim, and is now entering a new golden age. Having continued his Prokofiev series through last year, Lazarev has forged a new sound for the Japan Philharmonic, transforming it into an orchestra with an unprecedented level of sophistication and formidable power.\nHaving extended his contract as principal conductor through 2015, Lazarev launched a new series at the end of 2011, and this album features his interpretation of Rachmaninoff. While Rachmaninoff has, of course, been a staple of Lazarev’s repertoire in his solo concerts, this marks his first recording of the composer’s works with the Japan Philharmonic.\nLazarev’s sound evokes the grandeur of the Russian landscape, with deep, rich strings. He brings out the sweeping melodies, reaching the very heights of Romanticism. The result is a deeply moving and soothing, warm sound, complemented by a powerful brass section that is quintessentially Russian.\nWhile the Japan Philharmonic has traditionally excelled at so-called “Russian symphonies” such as those by Tchaikovsky, the sound captured on this recording is quintessentially Russian. With the addition of the refined string section and the richly colorful wind section that Lazarev has consistently sought, the Japan Philharmonic has transformed into an orchestra capable of delivering an overwhelmingly moving experience.\nIt is no exaggeration to say that everything Lazarev has built since taking the helm of the Japan Philharmonic is epitomized in this Rachmaninoff recording. A new Japan Philharmonic, completely honed and reborn under Lazarev’s guidance. We invite you to hear it for yourself.\nOctavia Records\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Exton","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595454767393,"sku":"4526977004767","price":3143.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4526977004767.jpg?v=1790481190","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4526977004767","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
