The 12 character pieces for piano, \"One Year,\" written during and after a year-long trip to Italy, considered one of the most fulfilling periods in Fanny's life, are combined with letters and travelogues (diaries) written by Fanny to her brother Felix, Felix's wife Cecile, sister Rebecca, father Abraham and others. This unique project offers an intimate glimpse into the life and work of Fanny Hensel, one of the most important female composers and Enlightenment thinkers of the 19th century, through her interpretations.
