Opening with "Future Sand," a clever blend of flute and steady arpeggios, Feinberg's third solo release on Tonal Union was created using finger-picked acoustic guitar rather than the usual analog sequencers.Floating sounds unfold over lush guitars and reverb-laden rose melodies. Combining the chamber-jazz approach of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra with a ballet-like sound, the work features contributions from Mary Lattimore, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, and David Lackner of Bing & Ruth, among others.
