Crossover of indigenous melodies with disco, boogie, and DX7 and drum machine! This is the one you'll love! At the end of the 70's, Ghana was in the midst of political and economic turmoil, and a prolonged curfew was imposed. Musicians who had lost their livelihood were forced to seek a new path. Western music such as funk, soul, and disco were introduced through records and radio, and had a great influence on local musicians. They began to pursue their own careers. Here, Ghanaian musicians developed a digital version of highlife music, incorporating Western musical styles and new technology such as the Yamaha DX7 and various drum machines.This release features a wealth of key tracks from such a \"burger highlife\" scene, including performances by popular artists such as Atta Frimpong, D.J. Lawyer Okyere, Pat Thomas, A.B. Crentsil, Alan Cosmos, and many more. Not only that, but with an enclosed 12-page full-size color booklet, double LP, and gatefold sleeve, this is not only a must-have for DJs and African music fans, but also a super A-class work of documentation.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Kalita Records","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":44978820514081,"sku":"4062548040883","price":4890.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/products\/4062548040883.jpg?v=1681958217","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/4062548040883","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
