In 1982, when Young was 24 years old, he bought his first 2tr reel-to-reel tape recorder and started experimenting with various instruments and vocal effects. After he bought a 4tr cassette recorder in 1984, he stopped using open reels, so the tapes were boxed up and left in a storage room for 30 years until Young rediscovered them, listened to them again, and released this album.
