This is a soft shock... The mysterious group known only for the song "Cumbia Del Desierto" on a 7inch once released on El Palmas Music has finally dropped a new album, a really cool (nerdy) update of Champeta Criolla from the Caribbean coast in the early 80s. It's been a while since I heard M3 "Mi Burrita" and it hit me like a ton of bricks. The pastoral M2 "Somos Los Hijos del Sol" with its thin 808 cowbell, the lilting four-piece M1 "Cuando Llegue La Ley" that will hit the floor at the perfect time, and the cumbia M4 "Salto Palante" that scatters a modern essence, are all Wonderful! No details on this LA JUNGLA artist. Champeta without the flirtatiousness is the best!
