He became a popular composer with a string of hit songs in the 1930s, but he died in June 1942 during the Nazi forced deportation of Kraków’s Jewish population (the event depicted in the film *Schindler’s List*). Every song on this album is deeply moving.\nThe Leipziger Synagogue Choir is a choir with a history spanning more than half a century, founded in 1962.
