It is a collection of chansons, motets, Masses, and other works from the Franco-Flemish school of the Renaissance period, preserving both vocal and instrumental compositions. With its focus on improvisational and virtuosic ornamentation, this album brings to life the rich and colorful nature of the music performed during that era.\nBased in the northern German city of Bremen, the Boreas Quartet Bremen is a recorder quartet that makes full use of a variety of recorders to achieve a remarkably wide range of expression, performing a repertoire that spans from the Renaissance to the present day.
