Anda's SWR broadcast recordings of Chopin's First, Rachmaninoff's Second, Brahms' Second, and Schumann's Piano Concerto (94.208) have been well received. The second volume is a solo recital. The inclusion of Haydn and Liebermann in the repertoire for the first time is not to be missed, and with the exception of Chopin's Etude, which has been previously released on Eulodisc, the other recordings themselves are all first time releases, which should please fans of the music. As if to prove that Anda was an exceptional virtuoso, there are several known alternate performances of most of the pieces on the album.
