On the occasion of the Schumann anniversary in 2010, the young German composer Ulrich started a series of complete works for piano and orchestra, including the world premiere recording of the \"Abegg Variations\" with orchestral accompaniment. This time, he releases his complete works for piano and orchestra, including the famous Concerto in A minor. Like his solo album (98.603), Ulrich's latest research has been incorporated here as well. The \"Piano Concerto in D minor,\" with only the first movement, is performed in an edition restored and supplemented by pianist and researcher Josef de Beethauer in 1986 and revised by Joachim Draheim in 1988. The centerpiece of this album is the \"Abegg Variations\" with orchestral accompaniment, which was conceived at the same time as the current solo piano version. This is the world premiere recording of Schumann's original draft of the piano and orchestral version, restored by Draheim in 2010. The German musicians are all from Germany, and the performance is of an extremely high standard, thanks to Ulrich's familiarity with Schumann, as Poppen, the conductor, is well known for his other recordings. The performances are of an extremely high standard. This is a must for those who are interested in the solo music series performed by Ulrich as well.
